The PACES performance system

Every visual follows the exam.

Students do not need another textbook chapter. They need a clear bedside sequence, the signs that matter, what those signs mean and how to present the case under pressure.

1

Candidate brief

Know the task, context, safety and examiner expectation before touching the patient.

2

Examination pathway

Use a numbered bedside sequence that is easy to retrieve under time pressure.

3

Do · Find · Means

Connect examination technique to the sign and its clinical meaning.

4

30-second presentation

Turn findings into a concise, examiner-ready clinical synthesis.

5

Viva and traps

Anticipate common questions, unsafe omissions and predictable PACES pitfalls.

6

Pass line

Finish safely, complete the station and demonstrate professional judgement.

Actual PACES visuals

Recommended launch pricing

Premium value without course-level cost.

PACES clinical courses commonly cost hundreds to over £1,500. This visual system is positioned as an affordable, reusable companion to bedside practice—not a replacement for examining real patients.

PACES questions

Know exactly what this is.

Does this replace examining real patients?

No. PACES requires repeated bedside practice, feedback and real clinical signs. The visual library gives candidates the structure, presentation language, viva preparation and error prevention needed to make bedside practice more effective.

How should I use the visuals?

Retrieve the examination sequence before revealing the slide, practise the 30-second presentation aloud, then use the viva and exam-trap panels to test your weak points.

Is this official MRCP(UK) material?

No. Med with Spence is an independent doctor-led educational resource and is not affiliated with MRCP(UK) or the Royal Colleges of Physicians.
